Hyperloop One completes phase 2 testing
Hyperloop is a plan to build an ultrafast tube train. It could allow passengers to travel from New York to Washington, D.C., in 29 minutes.
Shervin Pishevar, Hyperloop One co-founder, said this will be the cheapest, cleanest, fastest form of transportation in the world.
During a recent test the pod was loaded into a 1,600-foot-long concrete tube in the Nevada desert, the pod hit 192 mph in about 5 seconds, using an electric propulsion system producing more than 3,000 horsepower.
The test of its XP-1 passenger pod traveled for just over 984.25ft before the brakes activated and the vehicle gradually decelerated.
