Miami: Brightline high-speed express train unveiled
Costing more than $3 billion, the privately-funded high-speed Brightline passenger service unveiled its first train in West Palm Beach, Florida. Two diesel engines and four passenger cars arrived in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area after from the Siemens plant in Sacramento, California.
The trains have 240 seats. There will be two coach options for the passengers. The Select coach has 49 seats which are 21 inches wide. Smart coach has 66 seats which are 19 inches wide.
The company plans to add service to Orlando in 2018. The trains are designed to travel between Miami and Orlando at up to 125 mph.
