LUANDA – Angola and Brazil, on 1 April 205, in Luanda signed a cooperation and investment facilitation accord, including a memorandum of understanding for promotion of investments in industry, agriculture, energy and services.

The deals were signed by the Foreign ministers of Angola and Brazil, Georges Rebelo Chikoti and Mauro Luiz Vieira, respectively. The Brazilian diplomat started Wednesday a three-day visit to Angola.

The cooperation and investment facilitation accord is meant to promote investments and diversify a mutually advantageous cooperation.

Georges Chikoti said on the occasion that the memorandum of understanding covers projects that promote growth and trade, services and partnerships in industry, agriculture and energy.

According to him, the accords signed are also intended to make the economic environment between the two countries more attractive and lead to a work relation that involves the public and private sectors, in line with the evolution of the parties and south/south cooperation.

He added that the deals are part of the strategic partnership between the two states which, according to him, will boost existing cooperation and consolidate common interest projects.

In his turn, the Brazilian diplomat said the two agreements show the good quality of the “fraternal and close” relations uniting the countries for the last 40 years.
